in Aveiro, in addition to being the research and experimentation laboratory for artistic creation, it is a space that occasionally opens doors to the most diverse activities. At Espaço Red Cloud Marionetas, workshops, specialized training, presentation of works and informal conversations about theater, puppets and things in motion take place. We encourage the sharing of the company’s creative processes involving the artistic teams of the various projects.

Educational Services
Designed according to the need to expand and disseminate the interdisciplinarity of the theater universe of and with puppets, shapes, objects, things and moving images on stage, reflecting and combining the traditional and the contemporary in articulation with the technological evolution of the media in theater and the performing arts, the Educational Service of Red Cloud Teatro de Marionetas is responsible for promoting different types of educational and training activities, aimed at children, adults, families, schools and other specific groups, in the field of non-formal education. Whether due to the force of curiosity, playfulness, experimentation or knowledge, or the need to research and explore new technical-artistic instruments, all the motivations that these contain within themselves are a motto for programming that enhances its educational aspect, stimulating and articulating different levels of knowledge. The involvement and participation of the public is our primary objective, thus collaborating not only to raise awareness of new audiences, but above all to the development of a critical culture that stimulates the individual's creativity, according to the paradigm of long-term learning. of life.In addition to offering workshops, we have a range of practical and theoretical training courses available in the various artistic areas involved in the company's activity.Activities can be redirected according to the interests, goals and age group of the group of participants.Workshops and Training

Glove Puppet Construction Workshop
One of the axes of action of Red Cloud Teatro de Marionetas, since 2013, is the preservation and dissemination of the traditional Portuguese puppet genre “Teatro Dom Roberto”, elevated in 2021 to intangible cultural heritage.
In addition to presenting this tradition in national territory and in several international festivals, it reinforces the dissemination and promotion of “Theatro Dom Roberto”, through training in the construction and manipulation of glove puppets from the Dom Roberto Theater.

Creation of small animations using the frame-by-frame technique
After the presentation of the show, the public has the opportunity to participate in the creation of a 2D animation with the characters of the show.

Participants are introduced and led through various challenges over a 6-day period on Planet Plip. They will have access to a radio visit to the planet, which will serve as inspiration for the development of the works.
Based on the creative process of the Plip show, the participants will idealize and create their own mobile and particular planet, in a simple way, going through the stages inherent to artistic creation: an open creative universe always in transformation.
Each participant will receive their Plip kit (pieces of a puppet similar to a character from the show, printed in 3d), which will be assembled like a lego and animated with instructions from the trainers.
This format is designed for a class whose teacher can develop the proposals in a period between 6 to 7 days. There is the possibility of adapting the strategy according to the characteristics of the group and the availability of the teacher.

Art History / Fine Arts
This training aims to give an understanding of the essential transformations (formal and conceptual) that took place at the beginning of the 20th century. XX and that have influenced all modern and postmodern art since then. Thus, an analysis and exposition of the themes, forms and ideas that founded each of the important avant-garde movements that took place at that time will be undertaken: Fauvism, Cubism, Expressionism, Dadaism and Surrealism. This in order to convey the important conceptual shift that took place, a conceptual shift that forever changed our views on art (and our way of making art). Using drawing, painting and sculpture materials and practical guidance in terms of techniques and materials, we will freely explore the most striking concepts of this era in art history.
