Dromoscopic Sketch
Synopsis
Outdoors! About time. Red Cloud Puppet Theater dives in moments and investigates through time and perceptions. In translation it magnifies apparently static images. It proposes the beginning of a cinematic game in which resized characters, music and image constitute the elements for creation. Through the crossing of several languages: cinema, illustration, puppets, masks, actors and live music, it is presented in a game of various perceptions of time. In an unusual succession of links and interactions and repetitions, not at all meaningless. On stage, the actors, the musician and the image operator are on stage, the four makers of a spectacular moment.

- DROMOSCOPIC SKETCH
The various perceptions of time as motto for the relativization and comparison of scales between the human being and the immeasurable dimension of the universe.
Meeting the fragility of the human scale and at the same time provoking a reflective attitude. Through the intersection of various languages: cinema, illustration, puppets, masks, actors and live music, the Red Cloud Puppet Theater proposes to play with the various perceptions of time and how we understand it in a reflective and playful way. In this context, it is impossible not to reflect on space. In the age of great technological evolution, the notion of space and territory becomes increasingly undefined, liquefied. Space is configured as infinite and undefined. One can be virtually and simultaneously in the most varied places and this fact alters the perception of time / distance, the duration of processes and movements. It is proposed, in the show, a moment of deceleration, of pause.
Between laboratories and theoretical research around philosophical, social and scientific issues, came the encounter with the cyclical "time" of war, standardized in "our" time. The (unanswered) questions arise such as whether the human being is "good" or "bad" by nature, or whether it is a matter of survival.
The game of power happens on large and small scales and time management is a global strategy. What do you do with time? Who rules in our time? While survival is in the foreground, there is little time left for reflection.
The whole dramaturgical and aesthetic plot of "Dromoscopic Sketch" deepens and explores a set of perceptions between the dimension of everyday life and the existence of the planet, on our scale, indecipherable. As resistance, in the form of consciousness, in the face of constant acceleration, we found in the interaction of the various artistic languages, the scenic space and the duration of time, the motto for creation. It is proposed the submersion and interaction of the viewer to decipher the whole plot, which deep down intends to provoke a reflection on how each individual goes through life.
With the title "Dromoscopic Sketch" we direct the artistic intentions and aesthetic options. It is a concept found in Paul Virilio's book Cinema and War.
“Pictorial representation itself is already a dromoscopic sketch, since its construction procedure is systematic: it is the juxtaposition of autonomous episodes in which the usual` 2 + 1´ procedure is conceived as a rhythm imposed on the human retina, being the animation produced by what the Egyptians called luminous vitality. The expression demonstrates to what extent the Egyptians dominated the anatomical problem of perception and appearance production, not as a given fact. but as an active operation of the spirit, something that would be rediscovered much later by painters like Georges Seurat, with divisionism, Wassily Kandinsky, and filmmakers like Gance, for whom one must speak first to the eyes. In Egypt there is no symmetry, but rather equivalences: the walls of images, limestone bands painted from top to bottom where figures 'in action' parade.” (Virilio, Cinema and War)
As such, the whole text and spectacle is conceived by a set of images that in their overall vision must be understood as the “whole”. From the "sources" for the writing of the text and its relation to the composition of the theatrical scene emerged several points of view, not impeding its functionality to what it is intended to convey.
The use of image and live cinema deepens and causes a certain distance between the gravity of content and the playfulness of aesthetics. Seeking contact, the transmission of content to the public through disciplinary crossings.
We present an unusual succession of links and interactions and repetitions, but by no means meaningless. On stage are the actors, the musician and the image operator, the four makers of a spectacular moment.
