We are honored to welcome Eduarda Neves for the masterclass “sobre o peso e a leveza” (“on weight and lightness”).
This is a free event that will take place both online and in person, with interpretation in Portuguese Sign Language.

About the Masterclass:
Based on Italo Calvino’s texts on weight and lightness, included in the work “Six Memos for the Next Millennium”, we will discuss the importance of these concepts in performative artistic practice.
About Eduarda Neves:
A graduate in Philosophy and a Ph.D. in Aesthetics, Eduarda Neves is an independent curator. She has presented exhibitions in national and international spaces and institutions. Her research and curatorial activity articulate the domains of art, philosophy, and politics. She was a member of the Contemporary Art Acquisition Commissions for the Portuguese State Collection (2019-20) and for the Porto Municipal Collection (2021). She is a member of the Board of Advisors of The New Centre Research & Practice. Among the works she has published, some have been selected for the Pen Club award in the Essay category. “MINOR BESTIARY. Time and Labyrinth in Contemporary Art” will be published in English version (2024) by &&& Books (The New Centre, Berlin). A regular contributor for the magazine “Contemporânea”, in 2021 she was the guest editor of its issue 7, dedicated to photography in the scope of visual arts.
