Next week we are going to tour the show “Teatro Dom Roberto”, recently elevated to cultural heritage .
In fact, it is with great pleasure that we will be in Barcelona, at the 16th International Festival of Putxinellis, on the 8th, 9th and 10th of October. This is a festival organized by La Puntual Putxinel·lis from Barcelona.
This tour was scheduled for other times, but with the evolution of the pandemic it was rescheduled, but finally the time has come!
The “Teatro Dom Roberto” nowadays reminds the elders and shows itself to the younger ones as a relic of our culture!
Through the hands and swazzle of Sara Henriques, the robertos created by Rui Rodrigues come to life for the presentation of the two most acclaimed stories in Dom Roberto’s repertoire, “O Barbeiro” and “A Tourada”. For about 30 minutes we travel through time, where the dynamics of manipulation mixed with the shrill sound of the swazzle and the usual “thwack” scenes make way for the sleight of hand of these glove puppets with wooden heads.
On October 23, Dom Roberto will be on stage again, this time at the Porto International Puppet Festival, fimp’21.
The final rehearsals for Between People Version 1.1, will also take place in October. This new version will premiere at Motus Imago – Show of Shapes, Puppets and Things in Motion (MI) specially created to carry out the experience of interconnecting the different creative processes and research on the street, on stage and for the camera. This is a challenge that gives us a special taste for the possibility of constant experimentation free of barriers in a game between various artistic areas. It’s almost debuting!
MI’s Educational Service, starts in October with our proposal for younger people “Poetics of Things that Move”, these sessions are in person and take place at the Red Cloud Marionetas Space between the 18th and 22nd of October, the results of the works will be announced during the MI between the 6th and 13th of November.
On October 27th we resumed the sessions of World of Puppets in the Prison Establishment of Aveiro (EPA) within the scope of the Libert’arte project promoted by Tuna de Sta. Joana. We are going to continue the construction of the adaptation of the play “A Rosas e os 3 Namorados” from the traditional repertoire of Teatro Dom Roberto, but in this context made with rod puppets, manipulated and constructed by the EPA participants.
