Scenic sculptor and props artist, he attended the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto and since 1999 he has been dedicated to the fine arts applied to theater and cinema. Between 2001 and 2013 he was technical coordinator of Teatro de Marionetas do Porto. He directed the construction of puppets, props, stage machines and special effects, as well as the set up and technical operation of the shows on national and international tours. During this period he also worked on the lighting design of several shows in collaboration with the director João Paulo Seara Cardoso and outside the company doing scenography, props, puppets, masks and illustration. He currently co-directs the company Red Cloud Teatro de Marionetas and collaborates with other theater, film and visual arts projects. Among the latest collaborations are: National Theater (London) – Sculptor and puppet maker in “Silver Tassie”, “The James Plays”, “Medea” and “Treasure Island” 2014, “Angels in America” and “Pinocchio” 2017. Royal Opera House – Puppet maker and puppeteer in “El Gato con Botas” 2013, O Som e a Fúria – Prop Sculpture (Life-size Whale) for the movie “Arabian Nights” by Miguel Gomes 2014, Sculpture and mask making for the short film “Carnaval Sujo” by José Miguel Moreira – 2019, Lightbox Filmes – Construction of a replica wall in ruins with engraving for the films “Sefarad” 2019 and “1618” 2020.
